New Community Q & A
NorthShore offers two distinct services for guests, attenders and members—Thursday evening New Community Services and Sunday morning Celebration Services.

What’s with the name? We call the service "New Community" because it is the new Christian’s new family. When a person begins a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at a Sunday Celebration Service, they find their "new community" of worship, faith, fellowship and ministry on Thursday night.

What’s the difference in the two services? The New Community Worship Service helps believers grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The messages given at the Thursday evening services include in-depth teaching from the Bible and are designed to enhance and deepen spiritual growth.

Weekend Celebration Services at NorthShore are designed to present basic truths of the Christian faith at an introductory level, and to convey NorthShore's underlying theme--"God loves and cares for you." They contain timeless truths which are meaningful to those investigating Christianity and to believers alike. The services address relational, financial, career, and spiritual issues--the very real issues people face everyday.

Should I come to both services? Yes! If you are a Christian, then New Community is especially for you. It is a worship time designed to encourage you and help you grow in your walk with Christ.

Which service should I invite my friends to? Always invite your friends to the Sunday Celebration Services. They are designed to introduce your friends to Jesus Christ. We take this trust very seriously. We do our best to present Christian truth with relevance and creativity. All of our services use the full spectrum of art and media to accomplish these purposes.

What do we do at New Community? At New Community, we sing much more than we do on Sunday. We do this because it is a time for worship, and there’s no better way to worship God than through music. We often share communion together, and watch as new believers are baptized. And New Community is a great time for fellowship. We sometimes share a potluck dinner together before the service.

How often do we have New Community? New Community presently meets monthly on Thursday nights. When we have our own facilities, our future plans call for weekly New Community services.

Where do we meet for NC? Right now, we meet at First Baptist Church in Flower Mound. From Cross Timbers Road, turn north on Morriss Road and head towards Marcus High School. First Baptist Church is on the right.

What about the kids? We provide childcare for bed babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Children in grades 1-5 come to the service with their parents to participate in the service as a family.

Action Plan. It takes some planning, but consider attending this month’s New Community Worship Service on October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. You may be tired when you come, but you will leave refreshed.
