See You At The Pole (SYATP). On
September 16, 1998, at 7:00 a.m., you can take your place
with your generation and pray for your school, teachers,
friends, government, families, and nation. Over 3 million
people around the world will be praying at the very same
time! Great things can happen when students gather at
their school flagpole for prayer. A popular student
athlete shared at SYATP in Ohio that he was wrapped up in
drugs and alcohol the year before, but that today he is
"wrapped up in Christ." A girl reminded the
group that they had prayed for him specifically at last
years SYATP! Start making your list of prayer needs
now and join other students for prayer at SYATP!
Student Activities
Ministry (SAM). Are you interested in using your
leadership talent? Then we have a place for you.
NorthShores Student Ministry begins its Student
Activities Ministry team (SAM) in September. The team
will be responsible for ministering to our students by
assisting in planning, organizing, and coordinating the
student activities for this year. All you interested
adults and students, let me know!
Friend Day Is Coming!
Bring a friend to StudentGroup at 10:30 a.m. on September
20th.. Well have some special music, a
great message, and plenty of other activities! Word has
it that our students have challenged their parents to a
flag football game after lunch on that day.
School Campus Visits. I
have enjoyed visiting some of our students at their
schools during lunch. Weve been able to talk about
the possibility of starting some Bible clubs on campus.
If you want me to visit your school, let me know.
Welcome John Damore! Id
like to say thank you and welcome to John Damore. John
begins teaching our 6th and 7th
grade StudentGroup on September 13th! John has
already attended some of our student activities this
year, and he has a heart for teaching middle school
students. We will continue to meet in the gym as a large
group for singing, announcements and prayer. After that,
well break into smaller groups for Bible study.
Remember, Johns class kicks off September 13th!
