presently reside: Fort Worth Birthday:
May 19, 1958
Originally from: Corpus Christi, Texas
Education Background: B.S. in Religious Education from
Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. I am currently
pursuing a M.A. in Christian Education from Southwestern
Seminary in Fort Worth.
My family: my wife, Melony, and two children,
Jorden (9) and Hope (8)
My role at NSC: I am your pastor to middle school
and high school students. I get to do all those fun
things with the students of our church like camp, Six
Flags, concerts, Bible study...oh yes, and dont
forget Lock-Ins!
Personal Story: I grew up in a small
"Chicano" gang environment as a pre-teen. As a
thief, I was headed toward sure imprisonment and possible
death until I met Jesus Christ at Pot of Gold Youth Camp
at age 13. During High School I became involved in a
small group at church, playing the guitar and singing.
During my freshman year at college I began to sense
Gods call into ministry and dedicated my life to
Him. I spent several years working bi-vocationally as a
student pastor and as Training, Education, Development
and Personnel Manager for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. -
Logistics Division. In 1997 my family sensed God calling
us to full time Christian Service. We left Wal-Mart to
pursue my studies at Southwestern Seminary.
Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Leadership and
Administration
I started working for
NSC: February 1998
Most fulfilling part of
my job: Seeing young
people come to know Christ and mature spiritually
Recent books I've
enjoyed: Purpose
Driven Church by Rick Warren and In His Steps
by Sheldon. Tape Series: Purpose Driven Youth Ministry
by Doug Fields
What I want everyone to
know about NSC: That
this is a church where students can find someone who
cares about them...a place where people accept them where
they are
Favorite book of the
Bible: Ephesians
(Chapter 5 in particular)
My hobbies: playing basketball, computers,
singing, writing music, guitar
I'd give anything to
meet: Pat Terry, my
favorite singer/songwriter
I hope heaven includes: You and the many others I have had
the pleasure to call friend. No diets!
The smartest thing I've
ever done: Found my
"dry" sense of humor. Its a terrible
thing to loose. Now that Ive found it
people
keep trying to hide it from me again.
The dumbest thing I've
ever done: Tried to go
over a ramp on my bicycle backwards
ouch!
If I could live at any
point in history... As
a teenager in the 50s
The best way to pray for
me: Pray that I will
live a balanced life
dedicated to Christ first, my
family second, and the NSC family third
