Pastor What
a wonderful service we experienced on Christmas Eve! NorthShores
first annual Light Christmas Eve
service was a powerful reminder of the birth and life of
Jesus Christ. What touched your heart most? Perhaps the
luminaria lining the Donald Elementary sidewalks. Or
maybe the thought-provoking drama. What about the Chorus
and the Band. And the large DeCianni paintings of the
first Christmas. Maybe the media images had an impact.
Whatever spoke to you
most, I hope the Light presentation was a
blessing to you and your family.
I cant say enough
to thank those who worked so hard to prepare for the
service. Colleen Betsworth accomplished an incredible
feat with the decorations she prepared. Mark Sutton and
Ray Mouhot worked overtime to build and then paint 10
candlestands for the service. And, as always, Rick Huber,
Shane Seabolt, Mike Geisler and Jeff Plangman took great
care with the sound, lighting, video and stagehand
duties. Thanks to these folks, and to everyone else who
worked hard to make the service so special.
As we begin
preparations for next years services, pray that
God would guide our work. Pray that the Light services
will become an anticipated part of Christmas in Flower
Mound. In time, I believe God will touch thousands of
lives through our annual Christmas Eve services. And
were off to a great start!
The NorthShore Chorus
did such a wonderful job at Christmas, I cant wait
to get the group back together! I plan to start
rehearsals toward the end of February, so dust off your
music and start listening to those practic tapes again.
The group will be rehearsing a number we will sing at our
Easter Celebrations in April.
Welcome New Musicians. God
continues bringing new vocalists and band members to our
church. What a blessing! Phil Rogers sang for the first
time a few weeks ago. If you heard him, you know what a
great voice he has. Phil also plays the bass and acoustic
guitarstruly a multi-talented guy. Were also
excited to have Gaylen Slabaugh playing with us. Gaylen
plays the electric guitar.
If youre interested
in joining one of our musical teams, be sure and speak
with me this Sunday, or mark your green information card.
If you have some
dramatic or artistic talent, consider using your
gifts at NorthShore. We have been blessed with some
wonderful talent in our drama team, but were always
looking for people who love to act. A special workshop
for all you aspiring actors and actresses is in the works
for early March. Its an opportunity to learn more
about the skills important in good drama. For more
information, speak with me after a morning service.
We also have a need for
artists and painters. Our visual ministry depends on
creative people who enjoy coloring outside the lines
(pardon the cliché). Let me know if you have gifts and
abilities in these areas. We want to find a place where
you can use your gift!
Ive said this
before, but I want to say it again. I feel privileged to
be a part of such a wonderful church. I appreciate
everyone in our church, and Im especially thankful
for those in the arts and media ministry. I enjoy
ministering with you!
