| A
Place to Belong Why
Small Groups Are the Place to Develop Lasting Friendships
What event did you attend
the very first time you came to NorthShore? For most
people, it was a Sunday Celebration. Our services are
wonderful because they teach, inspire, encourage and
communicate. But is there more to NorthShore than Sunday
services?
We all need more than a
once-a-week service can give. NorthShore is a friendly
place, and almost everyone has made new friends at the
service. But, for most of us, the morning welcome time
and the few minutes of fellowship after the service just
isnt enough.
One of the most important
goals of small groups at NorthShore is to equip you with
lasting friendships. You need good friends to survive in
difficult times, and thrive in good ones. Jesus often
provides for us in rough times through the hands, feet
and voices of close Christian friends. When that happens,
you can feel Gods touch through their love, prayer,
concern and words of encouragement.
Theres no better
place to make new friends than in a small group.
Theres often time for fellowship with other members
of the group. And theres an opportunity to form a
deeper bond with other people. You can share your prayer
concerns, struggles and triumphs.
Small groups are also a
great place to find spiritual nourishment. And if you
have more detailed questions about the Bible, groups are
a good place to discover the answers. Small groups offer
weekly Bible studies that help you personally apply
Gods Word to everyday life. Its the same kind
of practical teaching that NorthShore emphasizes on
Sunday morning. In each group, a group leader facilitates
the discussion and directs a topical or Bible-book study.
Developing friendships and growing in Christ are two
lasting benefits of a small group. Its just the
place to go a little deeper.
Find more information
about the groups at NorthShore here. For directions to any of the
groups listed there, call a group leader. He or she will
be happy to answer any questions you may have.
