Children's Ministry

I presently reside: Flower Mound

Birthday: December 19, 1965

Originally from: Odessa, Texas

Background: I’ve taught preschool children for eight years, and I’ve been a children’s ministry teacher, children’s summer VBS and children’s recreation director at different times over the last ten years. I participate in children’s ministry-related workshops and classes each year.

My family: my husband Ken, and my sons, Michael (9) and Marshall (6)

My role at NSC: I am your Children’s Ministry Director. There isn’t anything more fun than working with children. I hope to know each child at NorthShore. Families are important and I want to minister to them as God leads.

Personal Story: When I was 5 years old, my 8-year old brother died. Because of this, I yearned for answers regarding Jesus and heaven. I had to know that my brother was in heaven and that everything was fine. By the age of 7 I truly understood who Jesus is and what he did for me. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and was baptized. I’ve never looked back! Through the years I’ve grown in my Christian walk. I continue to have a strong desire to teach children of all ages about Jesus. A child is never to young to learn about God and His Word.

Spiritual Gifts: Mercy, Administration and Giving

I started working for NSC: July 1, 1999

Most fulfilling part of my job: Getting to know our children and their families · Seeing our kids begin a relationship with Jesus Christ—there’s no greater reward on earth than seeing a child accept Jesus as Savior

Recent books I've enjoyed: Titanic Warning by Casey Sabella, and How to Continue the Christian Life by George Sweeting

Favorite book of the Bible: Romans

My hobbies: gardening, singing and rollerblading

I'd give anything to meet: Elvis, Princess Diana or Johnny Carson

I hope heaven includes: jalapeños and the movie Titanic

The smartest thing I've ever done: Asking Ken to marry me—I’m so glad he said yes!

The dumbest thing I've ever done: Standing on top of my 6-foot wooden fence and jumping straight down, which, of course, broke my heel in three places. I’ll never climb fences again!

If I could live at any point in history... The 19th century—the Victorian Era. I love the ornate dresses!

The best way to pray for me: Pray that I will be attentive to our childrens’ needs · Pray that I will seek God’s will in all decisions regarding our wonderful children
